Trusting students is as important as grades

These poignant observations from Jean Ruddock and Michael Fielding 2006 are more significant than most educators realise. Consider how many times you have truly engaged in an activity when in the back of your mind you knew that the supervisor didn’t really trust in you: your abilities; your maturity. So much potential is wasted by schools and teachers who undervalue students. The answer is simple – give students more voice!
